Your automation and AI partner. We love small law firms.
JurisIT works with law firms of 5 to 15 fee earners in Australia and the United Kingdom. We handle the technology, compliance, and automation work that your firm needs but does not have the internal resource to manage — and we make sure AI is introduced safely, with the governance in place to protect your clients and your licence.
We work with law firms of between 5 and 15 fee earners, and we're deliberately selective about it.
Firms with fewer than 5 fee earners are usually stretched too thin to make technology transformation work. The principal is billing, managing, and running the business simultaneously — there's simply not enough capacity to engage properly with the process, and without that engagement, even the best systems fail. The economics rarely stack up either: the investment required to build a proper foundation doesn't scale down to where the returns are meaningful at that size.
At the other end, firms with more than 15 fee earners tend to hit a different wall — internal politics. Competing priorities, departmental turf, partnership disagreements about direction. Decisions that should take a week take six months. By the time consensus is reached, momentum is lost and the opportunity has passed.
That said, rules exist to be broken — occasionally. If you run a firm outside that range and you're genuinely switched on about what automation and AI can do for your practice, we're open to a conversation. What we won't do is take you on if there's a risk that interest fades, priorities shift, or the team starts pulling in different directions. That wastes your money and our time. If you're serious, we're serious. If you're still working out whether you're serious, come back when you've decided.

Running technology, compliance, and AI governance in a small law firm is a full-time job. It involves keeping Microsoft 365 correctly configured, maintaining your practice management system, meeting your regulatory obligations, managing cybersecurity risk, and now — navigating what AI means for your practice, your clients, and your professional responsibilities.
Most firms of your size do not have a dedicated person for any of this. It falls to the managing partner, the practice manager, or whoever is available — between client work, business development, and everything else the firm demands.
JurisIT is built for exactly this situation. We are not a generalist IT provider. We work exclusively with law firms, we understand the regulatory environment your practice operates in, and we deliver the outcomes your firm needs without the overhead of an in-house hire.
Three pillars. One team. Every engagement.
AI governance runs across all three pillars in every JurisIT engagement. It is not a separate service — it is the lens through which we assess, advise, and deliver.
Technology
The right foundation for everything your firm does.
- Microsoft 365 configuration and governance
- Cybersecurity and device management
- Clio implementation, migration, and managed service
- Actionstep migration
- Practice management optimisation
- M365 Copilot readiness
- Managed IT — Surface devices, physical infrastructure, onshore support
Compliance
The regulatory and ethical framework your firm is required to have.
- AI governance framework and Acceptable Use Policy
- AML/CTF Tranche 2 readiness
- Privacy Act obligations
- Cybersecurity baseline — VLSB+C / ASD Essential Eight
- Incident response planning
- Notifiable Breach requirements and reporting
Automation
Less repetition. More time for the work that matters.
- Power Automate workflow design and build
- Wills and estates workflow automation
- Document assembly and precedent automation
- Microsoft 365 integration and data flows
- Clio workflow and matter plan automation
Practice Resilience® — a structured journey, not a one-off install.
Most technology and compliance problems in small law firms are not isolated issues. A misconfigured Microsoft 365 environment, an unsecured Clio instance, undocumented workflows, and ungoverned AI use are usually symptoms of the same underlying gap: the firm has never had a structured programme of technology governance.
Practice Resilience® is JurisIT's structured engagement programme for firms that want to address that gap systematically. It runs in four stages — Diagnostic, Foundation, Transformation, and AI Implementation. You don't need to complete all four stages — as the Cheshire Cat said, it all depends on where you want to get to.

Take the free AI Audit →Built by a solicitor. Backed by a specialist team.
JurisIT was started and is led by a practising solicitor with 34 years experience in legal technology — we are not generic IT consultants. You have direct access to a team of consultants with backgrounds in law, technology, and compliance that have spent years helping law firms get more out of their technology investment.
We have built LEAP export workflows, configured Clio from scratch, and written the compliance frameworks your new platform needs to sit inside. We understand what a trust ledger is, why a precedent matters, and what happens if a matter number doesn't migrate cleanly.
