Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This policy explains how Meridian Asia/Pacific Pty Ltd, trading as JurisIT (ABN 31 057 588 502) ("JurisIT", "we", "us"), handles personal information collected through jurisit.com.au and in the course of our work with law firms in Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: your name, role, firm, email address and phone number, through our contact form, the AML Health Check, the AML Evidence Review questionnaire, the AI Audit or by email or phone.
  • Your answers to the AML Health Check, AML Evidence Review questionnaire and AI Audit. These describe your firm's arrangements. We ask you not to include client names, matter details, the content of any AUSTRAC notice or details of any suspicious matter.
  • Engagement information: what we need to scope, deliver and invoice work for your firm.
  • Website usage: we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, including pages viewed, clicks and scrolling. Clarity uses cookies and similar technology. It does not tell us who you are.

If you do not give us the information a form asks for, we may not be able to respond or prepare a recommendation.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare the recommendation and quote you asked for.
  • To scope, deliver and invoice work your firm engages us for.
  • To contact you about that work, and occasionally about related services or briefings. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
  • To improve our website and services.

We do not sell personal information.

Where it is stored

Form submissions are sent to our Microsoft 365 environment through Microsoft Power Automate and held in our Microsoft 365 tenant, with core Microsoft 365 data stored in Australia. Our service providers, including Microsoft, may process some information outside Australia under their own terms. Information may also be accessed by our team in the United Kingdom (JurisIT Limited) where it is needed to respond to you or deliver work. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas recipients handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

When we work inside your firm's own Microsoft 365 tenant or practice management system, your firm's data stays in your systems and is governed by your firm's own policies and our engagement terms.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business (such as Microsoft), with professional advisers, where you ask us to (for example, with a referral partner you name), or where the law requires it.

Security and retention

We protect personal information with access controls, multi-factor authentication and the security features of our Microsoft 365 tenant. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@jurisit.com.au. If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page.
